BC Ceramics Marks Registry

Updated: Aug 6, 2020

THE BCCMR IS BEING COMPILED FOR ONLINE USE BY THE CRAFT COUNCIL OF BC.

Debra Sloan started to collect BC ceramic marks, historical and contemporary, in 2005, while preparing for the Potters Guild of BC’s (PGBC) 50th anniversary, it became apparent that ways and means of recognizing individual artists had not been established. Recognizing artist’s work is an essential to establish the artist’s provenance. Since 2005 she has solicited biographies from BC ceramic artists while collecting their marks. She has also photographed marks in situ at collector homes and second-hand shops.

Anyone who would like to be added to the registry can fill out the information and attach images of their marks.

Additionally anyone who is ALREADY included and would like to add to or EDIT the information we have can do so by filling out the form.

Here is the link to the online form for the BCCMR:

The registry will be updated twice annually in March and September.
