ARTIST DEMO - ANYUTA GUSAKOVA

Join the Potters Guild of BC and the Gallery of BC Ceramics for our first live artist demonstration of 2017! Anyuta Gusakova will be demonstrating how she creates her porcelain sculptures of fantastic beasts using molds and hand-building. She will also discuss her exhibition with Mary Kim at the Gallery of BC Ceramics, taking place from July 7th- July 30th. Expect a fun evening of clay talk and socializing with the ceramic community.

The themes in Anyuta Gusakova’s artwork were shaped by her early exposure to art, design and culture during her childhood in Russia. Inspired by diverse mythology and personal experiences, Anyuta creates fantastic beasts that explore human emotions and dreams. Anyuta holds an MFA in sculpture and drawing from the Stroganov University of Art & Design in Moscow. Her work has been exhibited extensively in Russia, Germany, Canada and the United States.
